The Rubank method books are a standard source of practice material for instrumental studies. This particular method book had a nice mix of technical etudes and song excerpts. This intermediate books has good coverage of keys to 3 or 4 flats and sharps. The book is printed on heavy paper that will last some abuse. I have a Rubank method for clarinet that is over twenty years and in great shape!
This is a good method, and considered a standard for the school district I teach in. There are other more interesting methods for the students, though. When I received this book from the vendor, it was all wrinkled and bent. I was disappointed.
It is about my speed. I do one page a day and just do it again when finished. It has interesting and comprehensive excersizes.
