Don't let the cute title fool you. This is just a catalog that extracts a few scale types from Nicholas Slonimsky's massive scale book -- the one used by performers from Yoyo Ma to Frank Zappa. Accidentals Happen does not contain any pattern drills, and the range is oddly restricted to that of a high-school trumpet player -- there is zero low range work in this book, and that must be part of the hornist's daily routine. Look elsewhere.

Not happy, not well written for horn. Kind of a joke for all the spam marketing he does. Too expensive as well.All the half steps are marked, ALL of them throughout the entire book....the whole reason for practicing scales on paper is to improve reading, the extra marks are a huge distraction....Bought for some students, will not use.

This book is excellent. It contains all of the scales in each and every key. The best part is that the scales are written with the Horn in mind, so the range that the scales are written in are in a comfortable range for the Horn. If you are a beginner or a seasoned player, you need this book.
