This book is a very cool resource. As someone looking to start a campaign, I have of course read all kinds of online articles about how to be successful, but they all lack the depth, clarity and convenience of this book.Not only that, but the author essentially handed me a numbered blueprint along with a series of bonus materials that make the value of this book outstanding.The author also gives really great examples of campaigns that worked and explanations of why (some of which generated more than 10 million). But more importantly, he gives a very compelling example of what doesn't work. Even though this example is pretty obvious, I think a greater explanation of why this particular example didn't work and why would have added slightly more value to this book because the author is expecting that the reader will put 2 and 2 together just because it's pretty clear why this example didn't work. I still get the feeling that there's more to say about this failure that could be pointed out to the benefit of the reader and future crowdfunding campaigner.Overall, the book is very well written and organized and I can only repeat, offers step-by-step instructions on how to create the campaign, but more importantly back it up with social media and PR efforts so that people actually visit the campaign page and feel compelled to help fund it. And of course the author helps you understand some key considerations regarding the value of your project so you can make it better before you get started.In short, I highly recommend this book to anyone thinking about or in the process of launching a crowdfunding campaign.
Poor formatting was a distraction in the edition I read, but I understand that the author has since corrected it.I have successfully run two Kickstarter campaigns, raising over 15K, but I still learned some tricks for my next one. Thanks Marty!
I'm in the process of planning a crowdfunding event for my dream business of opening a family friendly coworking space and I've read a lot of books on crowdfunding the last couple of months. This book has been the only one with so many bonuses and specifics on what to do.The only thing is he does promote his Fiverr.com services with the bonuses but I didn't mind that much (I don't blame him). I got so much more in return.
