My bass guitar teacher recommended this, and I have been working through both parts of the duets. It's good practice as I learn them to plug into the recording interface on my computer and record both parts.
There is actually a problem in that this book is printed in treble clef, which is not how trombone music should be scored. My son's teacher (who recommended the book) just recently opened it and saw this, but it is now too late for me to return it. I don't know if I just got a bad copy, but I'm out the cost of the book and not happy.
I purchased several trombone duet books for use in bassoon lessons and casual performance, mostly Belwin Master Duets and Rubank, and have been pleased by all purchases. The duets in the Rubank series are mostly entertaining and vary in style from duet to duet. The quality consistency is good with few misprints. Best feature is the amount of duets you get for what you pay.While the print is fairly small, one still has to turn pages in the middle of pieces from time to time. For this reason it is advisable to pick up two copies if these are to be used for performance.
We agree with the other reviewers who also received an incorrect book. The first couple pages are correct but the main bulk of the book is not written for trombone. The wrong pages were stapled into the book. Disappointing and frustrating. Lost time at lessons dealing with it.
All but six pages were the wrong book- clearly been made wrongly and the entire middle section was some violin duets. Something has gone wrong at the print works.
