I have used the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas book for several years both for myself to perform and for my advanced students. This collection contains popular Christmas Carols in a new setting. Many of the instrumental parts are of medium level, although some will require the technically advanced player with well developed range. The piano accompaniments are medium-difficult to difficult and greatly enhance the instrumental part. It is especially nice to hear the arrangment on the Mannheim Roller CD. These are beautiful, innovative and highly worth playing.
This is one of my favorite Christmas CD;s, so having this sheet music makes the holiday season more enjoyable. Being able to play some of these songs is a great way for the family to join in Christmas celebrations.
I just bought this book and some of my students learned duets for our holiday recital. We had one student on a synthesizer and one on piano. We enjoyed the combination of different sounds (flute, harp, electric organ, etc.) The book has modern and Renaissance style music, so it offers a nice variety. It's a lot of fun!
Great music! Played duet of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman" and "Stille Nachte" on 2 pianos... the arrangement is spot on and might be a challenge for intermediate players, but still completely attainable. The music sounds incredible and impressive!
