This was a great short story collection that served its purpose well. It brought me great joy and is on a sharing journey now as I share with my friends. Good stories that explain why they were made into movies.
I really like good ole time western stories and they are really hard to find. Others like Louis Lamour and L. Ron Hubbard both write really good western stories and Elmore Leonard is from the same time period. All of the stories from the collection are different each to their own and make for a good listen. I think my favorite was Trail of the Apache. The audio talent while each is a single reader (not multi-cast) was good and read the stories well. Some times the talent on audio books are a distraction from the story, but these I just got right into the story. Good stories and good production.
Great for long car trips.

Mr. Leonard is/was the master. Settings, dialogue, pace, and story, are all combined to present captivating stories far better than the usual western fare.
They were good stories but didn't seem to be in the correct order . If you like short stories it was ok
