I was so disappointed in this book. I listened to the audio book and I was put out with the fact that the writer seems to be more intent on impressing the reader with her knowledge of forensics than creating memorable characters. I didn't, at any point, develop an interest in the characters. Then right at the end, I almost got involved and cared what happened to these people and the end is just as disappointing as the rest of the book. I won't purchase anything else by this writer. It was first experience and last with her.
It is very rare that I don't finish a novel or audiobook that I start. This was one of those rare cases. Some words to describe this story: tedious, pedantic, boring. This is not at all like nor up to the usual high standards of Cornwell's work.
This was a disappointment. SPOILER ALERT!!!! Bringing in a character from a previous book as the killer didn't allow for any character development and felt like the reader was cheated. That along with the ending made it feel like this book was just a prelude to the next book.
Well written thriller, but for anyone familiar with the pronunciation of Portuguese surnames, the mispronunciation of the Boston policeman, Machado (the ch should be pronounced as an sh) was distracting.
I love her book . This is another good one. Love all the Scarpetta Novel.
