I really like this book. It is primarily intended as practice for finger style patterns, but the etudes have nice harmonies and some interesting chord patterns as well as alternate fingering and positions of some of the more common chords. The pieces are quite musical, but they are also very open to improvisation (at least in terms of alternate fingerpicking patterns) so I am having a lot more fun with this book than I expected.The book does include standard music notation as well as ukulele TAB notation for each piece.
I really like this book so far. The etudes sound nice and the progressions make sense if you're still learning the chords. There are some details that are not explained, which will create some head scratching for beginners (had to look up what PIMA means. Maybe this is common knowledge, but my musical knowledge is in harp and percussion - so it was new to me). Otherwise, so far mostly good. There is one major flaw in the printing of the book, though. Most of the etudes are two pages. The first page of each etude is printed on the front of the page, the second is on the back of the page, so you must stop in the middle of your playing to flip the page. I'm about to cut the book up, scan it in, and reprint it.
