Let me start out by saying I liked this book...but I didn't love it like the others. To me, this one was slow and a little boring. Don't get me wrong, there are some really good parts and some parts that make you really emotional. I, personally, didn't connect with these two characters.
I love this series and honestly, a Kristen Proby book is like comfort food, so rich and yummy and hits all the senses. This is the 4th book in the series and centers around Charlotte (Charly) Boudreaux. She is fiercely independent and successful. The story begins with Charly attending a self-help seminar in Montana for two weeks. The speaker for the retreat is Simon Danbury, he is gorgeous and sexy. He is also smitten with Charly and wants to keep a professional distance from her but is finding this strategy more difficult as their time at the retreat comes to an end. Charly is also fighting her attraction and soon the two give in and share a wonderful weekend together. Unfortunately, reality sinks in and the two part ways without exchanging any contact information. They believe it is for the best since his home is in London and hers in New Orleans. But weeks pass and the two are missing one another and Simon decides to surprise Charly, and she welcomes him along with her family. He decides to stay a little longer with her as he wants to pursue a relationship, but is also scared because he was once married and the marriage ended with deception on his ex-wife's part which has caused him to have trust issues. Their relationship is moving along and both want to tell the other that they have fallen in love, but their trust has been tested.I won't give away any details, but I can say that this was a fun and indulgent read and I look forward to Beau's story.
A very sweet and romantic story. I didn't rate it higher because I really don't like the miscommunication trope all that much and it was used several times in this story. I wanted to love it more, but it was kind of flat for me.
Same entertaining dialogue and inner dialogue. I love the family and how close they r. Lots of the F word and lots of explicit sex, as long as u r ok with that u will likely enjoy this book.Mile spoiler... I just had one issue with it and that was when Charly was listening to Ryan with Pamela it sure sounded like they had a sexual relationship yet the author made a point out of Charly's exclusivity with Ryan and how 'safe' it was to have unprotected sex with her. I think that was a fail but otherwise good story.
Charly is one of my favorite females in this series. She us strong and insightful. She makes no excuses. I ELT the connection between her and Simon was a weak one. I just didn't get the feels from them. He was a very weak character to start with so there wasn't much to build on. I did somewhat enjoy this book but Charly just blew him out of the water. He really wasn't a match for her. She was just too well developed he couldn't catch up.
Kristen Proby has once again stolen my heart with book four in her Boudreaux series, Easy Kisses. She once again has created another beautiful story developed in an amazing world, I can't help but want to live in. I love how Kristen entwines all of her previous characters into one complete story, while weaving future plots about characters to come.As a fan of this series, I met Charlie Boudreaux in the previous books. I knew her as the spunky, independent, headstrong woman who ran her business like no other. Women love the shoes she sells and she is quite a successful business owner in thr French Quarter. This book brought Charlie to a whole new level. As a favor to her sister, Charlie goes to a conference to help women with love, self-esteem, dating and career choices. It is put on by Simon Danbury, an internationally renowned motivational speaker. Charlie is determined to endure this conference, so that she can see if the lessons learned will help her sister. What she gets out of it is far more than she ever dreamed.Simon Danbury may have all the answers for women around the world, but his personal life is nothing but a gigantic mess. When he meets sassy, independent and successful business owner Charlie Boudreaux, she tilts his world like no other. Will he take his own advice before the force of Nature, known as Charlie leaves him in the dust?I couldn't get enough of this amazing story. I love each of the characters, the sense of family and this entire series. I can't wait to read more from Kristen Proby and see how this series continues!PS- The audio version of this book only enhanced Kristen's brilliant work. Sebastian York and Rachel Fulginiti only enhance this story. They did another phenomenal job with the narration!
Kristen Proby has a way of grabbing you and dragging you into the story. I always feel like I’m in the middle of everything that is happening in the book. The highs, the lows, I can feel them all and I love every second of reading her books. Easy Kisses was exactly what I was expecting from Kristen and more. I love the Boudreaux family. They are a ton of fun, but they are so tight knit that I’m sometimes a little jealous I don’t have more siblings.I’ve been intrigued by Charly since the beginning. She’s always been fun, but not very vocal about her own life and experiences. I really enjoyed how she met Simon and how their romance was a slow burn that turned into a passionate, all-consuming fire. There was definitely crazy chemistry between them and I liked that they didn’t really rush into anything. I appreciated Simon’s need for professionalism since Charly was technically a client. This book was perfect in every way. I laughed, I peeped a tear or two out, and I definitely swooned. I am never disappointed when I read a book by Kristen Proby. She is an amazing author and I hope to be like her someday. And now I really want to visit Montana and the beauty that she described in this book.Up next for the Boudreaux clan it looks like Beau and his neighbor Mallory. Their story should be a ton of fun and sexy as all get out. Then we will finally get Savannah’s story. She deserves a happily ever after and it better be with Ben. There is a particular scene with Ben at the center of it in this book that made me laugh out loud and made me jealous of fictional characters. I cannot wait for the rest of this series and more books by Kristen.
