This book is pretty decent if you're just trying to learn what numbers to put into what Excel formulas in order to get the right answer. However, if you're looking for a resource that helps you to understand WHY the numbers are the way they are (explain the t distribution, for example), then this book's not for you. I used it for a grad class and I personally felt it didn't "teach" me anything besides showing me the equations. I guess not everyone's going to become a statistician, but I would have liked a better explanation of the key concepts.
Excellent examples! This book has helped me to understand how to interpret and communicate statistical data. I really enjoy how the authors take cool examples like online dating services to explain statistical concepts like regression. I wish I could meet the authors!
