My 22 month old granddaughter loves this book. This pictures are bright and easily catch a toddlers attention. The narration is short and not too much for an impatient toddler who wants to turn the page. I've bought several of the books in this series. She loves them all!
The only reason for three stars instead of two is that my son liked this book. I left out most of the the base, potty humor (pooping, farting, etc.) while reading it to him, though. There were at least two grammatical errors in this short book (two questions that ended in periods instead of question marks). I also didn't like that the entire premise and some of the scenes seemed torn straight from the pages of "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late." (Which is a much better book than this one, IMO.) The illustrations are well done, but the story line didn't live up to the title and cover's potential.
My 4 year old loved this book. Even my oldest daughter and husband enjoyed reading it with her. Yes it has potty humor but like I said my 4YR old child loved it. It is a simple book. Easy for beginners to read. Nice illustrations. It just a very fun book all around. Bonus is the fact that my child no understand what its like when I try to get her to bed and she won't go. It is so funny to watch her reactions when she reads the book to friends. I love this book, after reading it I swear she does a little better at getting to bed on time. Don't let the simplicity of the book discourage you it is for toddlers and first time readers it is not meant to be overly complicated.
I Thought this was a good story for the kids to see what your parents go through if you were to make this same bad habit,yes? NOT good at all . You need your sleep to grow and your parents need their sleep as well. I would therefore for these reasons recommend this for five stars and for kids 0-8. This is an adorable bedtime story.The little bird is so much like my kids were and I could relate to the parent bird.It has very easy words so a young child could read it.He goes through every action kids use to stay up a little longer.The amount of time it takes to read is perfect.It isn't too long and isn't too short.It has put my grandkids to sleep and gave them the giggles.A fun book with lots of great illustrations.
V. Moua has written a funny story about a baby chick that all parents can relate to. The child who doesn't want to goto bed. This story is so funny that both parents and children will be laughing out loud. The beautifully simply illustrations add the charm of the book.
It made me laugh because it reminds me of the sleepless nights that my own daughter gives us. Basically it ended the same way in the book that it does in real life. I do love the art work in here so cute.
