Very good book, loved the background on the artist who created the designs for the glass. Also like the way it was broke down into 10 year periods.
An amazing book! I didn't know Fenton had produced so much glassware, and that even their later pieces would be worth so much. The photographs are excellent, the company history and photographs of some of the individual workers through the years were very informative. This book is a little pricey, but well worth it for any collector from the beginner to the well-established. I'm glad I got it.
In the first edition of this book, I was horrified to see a photo of Jade and Black Fenton glass from the late 1920s and early 1930s, and right in the center of the picture is a McKee tumbler.... identified AS FENTON. It is very difficult to take this book seriously after such a mistake WAS NOT CORRECTED. Putting out a second edition is the opportunity to update your data and make corrections. To ignore your OBVIOUS mistakes is just plain wrong. I simply cannot recommend this book for anyone who actually knows anything about Fenton Glass, or who would like to learn anything about Fenton Glass.
I assumed this book would cover all the pieces to 2007. I find I'll have to purchase another catalog/book, etc. to get the information needed on the items I have. I would recommend the book if your interested in the history and many exhibits. If your looking for all your items, forget it.
Colored photos are great, well organized. Although it shows a lot of what Fenton made not everything. Was a little disappointed because cost, think some of the older reference books included more pieces.
I collect glass, it is a great resource for me to use to identify pieces and when they were made.
This book fit my needs and it is a beautiful reference. If you are Fenton collector and would like just one reference book, this is the one!
Did not have enough references and prices for the "everyday" Hobnail, all the different Crest types, and common milkglass. Wanted to see more pictures of candy dishes, baskets, vases ,pitchers, etc.
