Luna feels differently than the rest in her butterfly family. A wise old owl tells her the reason why; Luna is not a butterfly but a beautiful moth. Luna decides that it is fun being different and special.Five other stories about familiar children’s characters like pumpkins, mice, ponies, ducklings, and the tooth fairy, each in their special way teach children the values of cooperating, taking care of their health, self-confidence, and finding one’s own particular niche in life. Young children will learn, “It’s okay to be different,” and “Be the best that you can be.”Targeted for preschoolers, some of stories are written in rhyme, and others in prose. All together totaling a little more than one hundred pages, the book is best read in sections as a bedtime story or as a circle time classroom discussion. Parents with children who are experiencing problems like the characters in the stories might choose and discuss one to help a child cope. I read this book on my kindle HD fire and did not experience the formatting problems that some reviewers mentioned. Recommended as a nice add on to a preschoolers library.
Seller responded back to me the same day. I did receive this book for a discounted price in exchange for a honest review. This was a very short simple book coloring book that revolves around a "night butterfly" and other characters. I would recommend this book to people with smaller children. It is brightly colored and does not have too may words in it. Would be too easy for my oldest child who is 13. It is perfect for my youngest child (2) because I can read the words to her and she can look at the bright colorful pictures. Because of the fact that the book is brightly colored it keeps her attention.
I originally picked this book up for my four year old grand daughter as a book we could read together and realized how wonderful this book is. It is a great book for everyone to read young and old alike. Bonus you get extra books as well.I think all of us at any age should go and read some of the books from our youth and maybe like Luna, The NIght Butterfly find a New book that I wish I had 50 something years ago and start a new tradition to pass forward, Beautiful book writing and pictures. Must have for all ages
A very nice story that teaches a good lesson that it is ok to be different, and each of us should celebrate what is unique about us.However I'm deducting a star because when I get to the end of the story there are still many pages left in the book. These pages are filled with big ads for other books by Lily Lexington. This is an unnecessary waste, as already gives me a list of the authors other books when I'm done. But I'm not deducting my usual 4 stars for doing this because you at least embedded in the meta information that the book ends at the last page of the story. But seriously, if you already have the skill to do that, just put this nonsense at the beginning of the book. I mean the Table of Contents is the final page ... how absurd.
Boring. My kid asked me if I was done. Way too many words, repetitive unmoving stories with similar themes. They were not fun, and they did not rhyme after Luna... Long, boring, uneventful pictures and meanings.
This beautiful book is great for your wee ones. Most will like the pictures, but the story of Luna is max. I like this author because she breathes life into the characters that makes them leap off the page.
I like the Lily Lexington books, this one has a good theme about embracing your individuality and valuing and knowing yourself for who you are. Plus some good rhymes so you won't mind if it's a favourite for your child.
