This book had SO MANY MISTAKES. I would be stuck in a problem for hours because i had no idea how they got the answer, turns out the answer in the back WAS WRONG!. This didnt happen to me just once, it happened to me multiple times, not only were the answers wrong in the back of the book, but the examples they showed you had glitches too. Instead of showing you how to do the problem with actual calculations, they wanted you to you EXCEL!!! i had a really bad time with this book. I do not recommend.
Very useful. It didn't often map directly to the specific problems I had issues with, but by walking through the provided solutions, it helped me get a better grasp on important concepts. I was then much more able to solve my assigned problems.
This book makes hundreds of mistakes and the answer document is worse. The problem is that it is a Math 112 perspective on finances that fails to clearly and logically define the problems it sets out to solve.
Rarely have I ever felt that I have learned something in spite of the text book. The editing is good, but the layout of the concepts isn't intuitive and leaves a lot to be desired in driving the concepts home. I also think the focus should be moved to using excel or a financial calculator rather than tables in the back of the book to look up discount rates. This is especially frustrating if you are working with an electronic version of the text.
The book is in slightly worse shape then I'd like. One page is almost completely ripped out of the book. There might be more but I haven't made it that far in the book yet.
Good textbook but with a few "typos" in the math work. Not detrimental, but can cause confusion and some professor questions.
Overall this is great book for economic engineering analysts, it shows all methodology's for completing the problems. It would be helpful if they provided excel steps for each problem.
Required for a course. Better than other textbooks i've used. Good appendix and examples. Got the hardcopy, think the kindle version would be better with a search function.
