The content of these flash cards is excellent. It has all of the material that I want to teach my student (though I'm not interested in the Alto clef at all). It has helpful recommendations for how to use the cards also. The one note I would add, is that as a first step, I recommend that students memorize the order that the sharps and flats are written on the key signatures. This makes it easier to remember. (Okay, so this key has this many sharps and they are... Then you just list them off. Eventually this step will go away, but it is helpful at the beginning.)The only thing I do NOT like about the flash cards is the actual material and size. The material themselves is barely even card stock. It does not feel sturdy, almost like normal paper. With much use, I may just need to make my own on note cards. Also, the size is large. I expected this, but it is REALLY large. Classroom size. Each notecard is about the size of have of a full sized, 8.5x11 sheet of paper. This is not convenient.I would purchase this again unless there was a better printing of it for personal use. However, I may just use it for the content and have my student make their own flash cards by copying these to note cards.
My teacher has these same exact cards so of course I got them as well. If you prefer paper instead of app then get these cards! A plus for me is that they're larger than the standard 3x5 flash cards so they fit perfectly in my music notebook.
These are huge flash cards. I use them to help review key signatures with my flute students. I enjoy using them.
Eare training i believe is essential and along with music theory provides a solid foundation for any instrument the student wants to play. Also training the ear will benefiting in voice preparation.
