Beautiful photos and plenty of projects to work on, but not as good as Passing the Flame. I spent hours trying to make the bead pictured on the book's cover and still can't do it justice. I've only been making my own glass beads for about six months, so there is plenty of room for improvement. This material would have been better suited in a video.
I bought this book to teach myself beadmaking. It has detailed instructions and pictures showing each step in the process, beginning with basic beads and progressing to more advanced techniques. I recommend it to any beginning beadmakers.
I just started doing lampwork about 6 months ago and had more "mistakes" than anything else. I didn't give up and I can duplicate my beads now. I still have a long way to go to refine my technique, but this book inspired me to keep trying. Nice addition to anyone's collection.
Interesting European authored book as it shows different ways to make beads than I learned from American authored books. Tried the new techniques with good results. Lots of photos and comprehensive directions.
I really like this book. It gave me a lot of new ideas and some challenging. I would recommend this to both new and intermediate beavers.
This was the first book I bought when I started considering taking up lampworking as a hobby. I found it quite helpful with a bunch of fun things to try. Definitely doesn't answer all of my questions though.
