The Allen Vizzutti studies are written for intermediate/advanced players. However even if you are a beginner, do not hesitate to invest in these books as at some point you will be glad you did. Even as a beginner you can start working on the first few pages that are great for getting the different chord structures "in your ear”. That is followed up by technical drills similar to (but not the same as) those in in the Clarke technical studies. Check out Allen's master classes and instruction videos.If you would like trumpet instruction by someone who is endorsed by Allen Vizzutti, then check out Greg Spence "MysteryToMastery videos.These videos and his personal instruction (you can take lessons via skype) have laid out for me the path to obtain a secure upper clarino range without "beating up my chops". Notice for instance how Allen Vizzutti and Greg Spence make it look so easy to play in the high clarino range. They seem to do all this completely effortless.
I'm running Sony PRS-T1 ebook reader.Because it's just 6' device, I was not sure it would be enjoyable or not.While this book is for melodic instrument - trumpet and furthermore it's a kind of method rather than songbook, it's quite readable.I'm quite satisfied with this kindle edition.Vizzutti's book itself does not need more review.
This is a great book for any aspiring trumpet player. I used it for Regionals this past year, and though the piece was very challenging it came out phenomenal. Great condition and I would recommend it to any trumpet player.

Our grandson started playing the trombone 3 years ago. He is doing very nicely with it; but preferred to try the trumpet. This year I bought him the 3 trumpet books so he can help himself and review what he knows. He is doing great with the trumpet now. He hopes to play in the high school marching band with either the trumpet or trombone. Then he plans to go to OSU and be with TBDBITL.
