We bought this book on the request of our child's trumpet teacher. Due to the dearth of brass method books, teachers generally rely on band methods such as this. However, as with any method oook, your student will do far better with a good teacher who knows what they are doing. The trumpet teacher brings sheets of other technical exercies. We've also been supplementing this with pieces from books we learned about from the RCMT/Carnegie Hall Achievement Program brass syllabus to get more classical pieces, especially Baroque, as they are longer and really help a trumpet player develop. You can also find good trumpet pieces for free online if you know what to look for.
This book has many short tunes to sightread and work on your playing. It ocassionally teaches new techniques and times. In the back, it has a scale guide and some band arrangments.
had it and needed it for my youngest son's intermediate band, next year. Everything came as it was supposed to do.

The book is great! Of course, there isn't much to say about the book itself, but it arrived in time to start the next level to the book.
