It also closely follows LeBron’s basketball career, starting with his middle school AAU tournaments, his high school career and his immediate breakout into the NBA, forever changing the basketball hierarchy that’s previously existed. The book also touches on his family life. Even though LeBron is proud about the fact that his mother had raised him well, the lack of the father figure has been missed, and he intends to not do the same for his sons, by always being there for them. Despite all the high praise for LeBron he is without fault: in his career changing decision by joining the Miami Heat in 2010, he has shown more bravado than is needed and took on a villain persona throughout the season, which didn’t end up in his favor. All in all, this book is a must read for LeBron’s fans. It is still a good book for young people and casual basketball fans, as they will be able to relate to this work.
This book has a really inspiring story about LeBron James, one of many basketball's greatest players in United States of America. It's not an easy road for him to become one of the NBA superstar who is recognized as of today. He grew up without a father figure that loved him. That's very very hard, since I know one of my relative also had the same fate. As we all know, every children need father figure and also mother figure. There are some single parent that is awesome. He/She can be a father and a mother at the same time, but in my opinion, children need them both. LeBron James became NBA superstar without a father figure. That's very inspiring for me. He started his career from middle school and he is getting better and better. His mother raised him very well, and she must be so proud of him. Overall, this book is wonderful and it's a very inspiring book. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are his fans. It is a must read book.
Before reading this book I knew absolutely nothing about LeBron James. I had no idea that he grew up in a single parent home in Ohio. The first part of this book, before he made his way to the NBA I gained a lot of respect for LeBron's mother. She made sure to surround her son with role models that not only fostered his love for the game but that also kept him grounded in his middle and high school studies. It is easy to see how he became so successful in the NBA and also in life. Included in this book is a snippet about his personal life. LeBron has made it clear that although he grew up without a father he makes sure that his three children will not have to go through what he did. This book is very well researched and written.
I became interested in the NBA for the first time a few years ago, but even before I started watching basketball I knew who LeBron James was! This was a really interesting and in-depth book into his life and career, and I found all of the details about how he rose to fame fascinating. I'm still learning about basketball, but the skill James has is undeniable. I really enjoyed reading the details of the 2013 and 2014 NBA finals, since those were the first finals I ever watched. Reading about them now helps me understand what I was watching, and gives me a new appreciation for James' skill. If you love basketball and talented players, then this book will definitely keep you interested!

My young nephew is big into basketball and loves LeBron and that encouraged me to pick up this book so I could talk with him about his favorite player. The story of how LeBron came out of poverty and bettered himself through hard work and talent. This book is well written and has a good flow as well as telling a story that is touching and informative. Anyone who has a big interest or even a subtle one like me about LeBron James is going to enjoy this book, it is well worth the purchase price and I highly recommend it.

LeBron James has a name that is almost instantly recognizable by anyone in the country. This book takes you through his life, and how he didn't just get to be awesome by accident. Through his childhood and high school years and straight into the NBA, Lebron is a towering figure, both physically and as an athlete. This book also follows his NBA career thus far, and one can only imagine how much farther he can go. This book is a great way to learn more about a name that is recognized throughout the world of basketball.
LeBron James: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Greatest Players is definitely like the title proposes, inspiring. I think, in general, any professional sports player, has an interesting story to tell and can be a great example for our youth. However, this one is certainly standing out by showing how much perseverance that athlete demonstrates at a young age, and does not give up on his goal, his dream. I have a middle school student myself and it is so easy for young people to get discouraged, because of peer pressure, lack of parenting support and unfortunately these days also bullying in so many cases. Being active, involved in a sport, can be an excellent outlet to bullying, drugs, or any bad influence the children are exposed to, as Lebron had to avoid himself. LeBron shows everyone in his book, that with hard work, and positive attitude, not only you can go on with life, and be successful, but you can truly become a national model for so many others. The beauty of this book is that you can read it a few times and get more out of it each time as it covers so many angles of LeBron’s life: personal and professional.
