This book has the complete list for the basic chinese phrases you need to learn. I like how the second part of this book has a flash card style reading. However, I will appreciate it more if the author included a brief introduction about chinese letters and how they will be pronounce. There are some words that I even tried to google because I really don't know how to pronounced them.
Great phrase book! A lot of coomon and usually used words and phrases. Highly appreciate this. I went to china for some business and I can easily say that this book saved me in many sitautions. For example, the phrases for hotel booking saved me when I had some troubel at the hotel. Great!
I've been studying Chinese for five years now but I wanted a book that had all the tourist and travel info to revise for my trip. This book was really great. While it didn't have any grammar to speak of it was in really well organized sections and had lots of useful phrases. I'm not sure I'd recommend this for people who haven't already studied Chinese but for people who know the language some already this would be really useful for travelling. I will definitely be bringing it with me on my trip.
I grew up in the U.S. but lived in Thailand for awhile where I learned to speak Thai fluently. I am now working on learning Chinese. This book is simple but it met my needs. It is basically a list of Chinese words along with their English translation and pronunciation. I purchased it because I wanted to use the flashcards to study with my friend. It has worked well for us since it is easy to swipe through the flashcards on my kindle! It is a nice study aid!
Short but sweet--and definitely very useful. This is what this Chinese Phrase book is all about. It has words, phrases, expressions, and sentences that will teach those not speaking Chinese to be able to speak and do it well too. I had a great time reading this and pronouncing the new words that I have just learned. This book is really cool!

It contains Chinese phrases for almost everything -- greetings, emotions, common verbs, common adjectives, common questions, flirting, traveling, in a hotel, time, slang, and many more.I would totally recommend this guidebook to anyone who is planning to travel to Chinese-speaking countries or to people who just wanna learn the language.

There are a lot of basic words and phrases that are very helpful while we are having our lessons. It's also interesting to learn another language in an easier way. This book is not complicated.
