I purchased 3 different beginner’s guide to accompany the guitar we bought my husband for his birthday. This was by far the clearest and easiest to follow and he was twanging away and playing some tunes very quickly. We kept one other, and returned one. He said the illustrations were very clear and the explanations concise and easy to follow. Very highly recommended for any beginner.
Great beginners book Got this book at Xmas and have been working my way through it since. Nice clear, easy to follow photos and illustrations and easy tunes. Easy to follow, not intimidating, and just what I needed to get things going. I’m now able to play several chords and play a few tunes all the way through ! Ideal for beginners like me.
Great introduction to playing guitar. Enjoyable tunes, easy to follow and the progression of skills was well paced and allowed me to master each new chord and note in good time, with fun tunes to play along the way. Clear photos and instructions, and the musical notation and reading music was very clearly explained. A great starter book for anyone beginning guitar.
I've been teaching guitar for over 30 years and this is by far the best guitar method book that I've found for teaching teens and adults! From beginning to end it is well written with plenty of chord charts, easy to play songs and most importantly a step-by-step approach to teaching beginners how to read guitar music. I purchased this to send to my son who lives out of state.He received it and said that it was really nice.While it was very rudimentary, it did provide him knowledge he was still needing such as chords and that it was helping him to read music!He likes it.
My hubby loves this book and has learned a lot about playing just by using this guide. He is a beginner and never played before but now is able to play several songs from the book. Highly recommend this for any beginners.
Easy to read book with great pictures and scales. I played sax in middle and high school but it has been years since I have played music. Decided to try to play guitar and this book made it easy to pick up. I was playing simple little songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the first day! It's the little things that excite me! The author explains how to read music in addition to how to learn the notes very well.
My daughter likes it very much. She didn't know anything about playing a guitar and she is enthusiastic about learning it with this book.
