I was under the impression that this was a step by step painting instruction book. That was not the case. Most of the paintings were unattractive and in a step by step format they were not! The Roy Lang paintings were the only ones that even resembles what I would call artist's paintings. I'm not at all happy with this book and will probably never use it.
The book offered a nice introduction of painting, covered topics likes materials, colors, tone, light, techniques, medium, etc. I like how the topics are arranged and the content goes deeper and more complex.
I love the as you go instructions especially for the seascapes.
