Great book for beginners. I love the attached CD. Very helpful to work along with. I got through this one quickly and soon after found a local Baritone Uke teacher. It was good to be able to walk in with some experience/knowledge.
A very good primer, being the first in a series. There are so many tutorial resources via the internet, wit articles and videos galore, I purchased this book to give me a structure for learning the basics. I like that you get right into some rudiments of fingerstyle, which is what I want to be able to do someday. The exercises are simple but also build confidence and skill.So his book gets four "thumbs" up. Why not five? Well over half of the book are charts of chords. I can get chord charts all over the place and I feel that more space could have been devoted to instruction. The beginning student is not going to need all of these chords at this point since they are still getting the basics down pat. I felt that their inclusion served as padding, so that instead of a 56 page book, you get a 142 page book. I'm considering getting the next method book in the series and would be grossly disappointed if this was repeated.
Very easy for a beginner. Nicely written. I could follow each stop easily. It has been my quide through thisnew music.
I really liked this book. I easily learned the important chords and could pluck out a few songs within a few hours.
