This is an excellent book about preserving a family legacy. Going in I thought of money as a family legacy, and the book offers alot of good counsel on preserving wealth. But, it makes the point that family relationships and family knowledge are more valuable than money as a family legacy. People with the right knowledge can create and preserve wealth, but people who have only money will quickly dissipate it. A family that doesn't like each other or work well together will have a hard time preserving wealth without fighting over it and destroying it. The authors use many examples with real world families of the right and wrong way to do things. It's not a book about investing or creating wealth as much as it is about creating a multigenerational family that will preserve and protect the family wealth across the generations. Not a quick read. I did lots of thinking while reading about how to apply the knowledge I was getting. If you are thinking long term, this is a good book.
