Negro spirituals are one of the greatest contributions to American music. I bought this book because it has some lesser known titles which I'd wanted to hear and learn.I give it four stars only because some of the pieces are written simplistically and are not too challenging to play. But it is well worthwhile having if you appreciate this kind of music.
The book includes many well-known Negro spirituals, and the music is generally easy to play.A few of the songs are in settings which are rather high to sing along with.
Good book but need time to play the melody.
