I bought this book as a beginner (I have been playing guitar for 2 months) and I love it! There are some fairly simple songs that I found easy to play and others are more difficult (intermediate) so there are many difficulty levels. Easy book to read and follow along and it's nice to be able to play good songs without knowing all the tricks.
I found this book on  for about $8 less, including shipping, than at our local music stores. It contains a lot of popular, older songs that I am interested in. The accuracy of the chords and notes are very good. I've played many of the songs from it and use it while taking lessons. There are songs with basic chords for the very beginner that offer great practice. There are also plenty to learn for intermediate and advanced players. I am happy with my this choice and would definitely buy it again.
This book has a nice variety of pop songs (1960-1970's) for the beginner guitarist.( Ex: America, Buffett, Loggins&Messina, Grateful Dead) The tablature and chord diagrams are very easy to read. Some of the selections have a combination of tab and chord diagrams. Other selections have one or the other.A solid 4 stars here. Not a 5 star because there are no current pop songs included. In my opinion, this book is not challenging enough for intermediate or advanced players.
Well, it certainly is BIG. Lots of songs. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of detail contained in the book. Some familiar lead lines were accurately tabbed along with the chords. Chord diagrams were provided for the chords used in the tabbed songs. Some of these chords were "non-standard" voicings, and were especially pleasant sounding on an acoustic guitar.A word of caution to potential buyers (which may actually be a heads-up to experienced players who may be scared off by the title): this book contains accurate transcriptions of professional songs! If you are a rank beginner, I expect you may find some of these songs quite challenging. On the other hand, if you are an intermediate or better player, you should enjoy most of the offerings.Overall, a nice addition to the acoustic player's library.
This book wasn't what I expected. I thought that there might be a lot of songs that I could play on my guitar in this book. But the chirds are strange and it just wasn't as easy as the books title makes you think.
