I own quite a few books on street art but this beautifully presented book is by far my favourite. The photos are really wonderful, but for me what makes this a stand out is that we hear from the artists in their own words. Their views on street art in general, on their own art, on NYC, on the future and on their process, not too many books of a similar vein do that! I loved reading about some of my favourite artists, and also being introduced to new ones I hadn't heard of. Nice job!
This is a gorgeous book detailing a very important subculture of the art world whose art is here one day and very possibly gone the next. Therefore it is not only a thoroughly enjoyable read (and the book itself is a work of art) but is a kind of historical record of the art and artists. It presents a uniform method of interviewing the artists and may one day be a very important source book for this genre of art.
