Just get it. Let the Holy Spirit transform you inside and out. Ignore the complaints and the actors and interpretation. This is good. Bc the Spirit of God is in it point blank. Best credit ever spent. I would know... I love audible but this surpasses all other audibles ever.
One of the better "reader's theatre" Bible productions.Two major complaints about this effort though:1. Jim Caviezel, bless his heart, is not up to the task of playing the part of Jesus. Casting him for an audio book was a gimmick but ill-advised. He simply does not have the heft required to pull off the part. I never once believed he was Jesus. Mostly the issue is that he sounds like a milquetoast wimp all the time. This is even more obvious when he is called on to voice the "Angel of the Lord" parts found throughout the OT and certainly when he speaks in Revelation he should have nothing but the thunderous and authoritative voice you would expect of the creator of the universe.2. The audio book is impossible to search. Audible did a horrible job with chapter naming. There is simply no way to find, say, the book of Romans. The divisions between books are purely arbitrary and grouped by "parts". So Part 9 of the New Testament contains what? I have no idea.Otherwise, the effort is an enjoyable listen. I use it on my commute and you can get through the Bible in a year if you have an average 1 hour commute. Aside from the Caviezel problem mentioned above, the Book of Revelation is amazing to listen to. Very well done.This is not a full-throated endorsement but don't let it stop you from buying it. In fact, get it as a free download from Audible if you sign up.
This is not a study Bible. It is difficult to locate specific verses. BUT it is the perfect way to emerce yourself in the Word of God while doing other things. Listen in the car, while doing housework, while walking the dog, ... My husband and I listen as we are going to sleep at night. Use it appropriately for adding to your time with the Lord and it is a blessing.
Of Course the actors did a great job on this rendition of scripture. Not a crazy fan of Richard Dryfuss playing such a large role of Moses, I wasn't aware that he is a believer.This download comes in 14 files and is designed to be listened to like a novel. The Bible is not a novel but a large book of smallerbooks, chapters and verses. It is very difficult to search for specific texts. Through my android phone, I am able to listen to this in my car during my morning & evening commute and after a long day at work my eyes are too tired to read.I am considering purchasing the CD's for my car as I like to listen to sections at a time over and over to get it into my heart.
