These are OK but of lower quality than the flute book of same name. The accompaniments utilize the lower register on the piano (below middle C) and tend to have a very muddy sound. Melodies are very contrite and rather simple, most of them not making musical sense like Tchaikovsky. Really, the more complicated the piece was, the more ridiculous it all seemed. When my trumpet friend and I finished each piece, our comments were like "wow, that ending really didn't work", or "that was a lot of notes for nothing", etc. We did find 4 pieces that we liked out of 16. Maybe it's like finding a good steak--so good when you finally do!
Great book. Deceiving when it says "with piano accompaniment". It does not come with the piano music. Must buy that separately.
You can get the Trumpet solo book much cheaper but this one says with Piano accompaniment it is very deceiving that it say with piano accompaniment on the cover when in fact it does not come with it and you have to buy two books to get what you need the two books are cheaper then this one lacking the needed components for you solo
