I bought this book because it looked interesting. I showed the book to my guitar teacher. He was thrilled to see so much interesting material for me to learn at my level. His final comment: "This is a great find." I wound up gifting my copy to my teacher so he can plan out what he wants me to learn next. I'm ordering another copy for myself today.Highly recommended but only four stars instead of five because music books NEED to be spiral bound and this is not.
I wasn't familiar with the works of Bartolome Calatayud. Many of these pieces are both easy and beautiful. Highly recommended for the classical guitar student. These pieces are also an excellent source of material for any teacher.
Hard to find & highly recommended ! I am an absolute beginner and won't get to this level for a while but these are highly recommended dead by teachers of classical guitar and hard to find. Grab all three volumes whenever you see them!
This is an incredible music book!! I have learned more from this book than I have from other music books combined. The beauty of Bartolome Calatayud's music is that you can listen to the many different tunes on U tube. This can help you with cord placement and just how the particular piece is supposed to sound. Do not waste your time studying tablature. If you are serious about playing the guitar, learn to read music! With time, you will learn to play just about everything. Yet, you need to study music under the direction of a "Good Music Teacher". I have been taking lessons from a teacher at Boise State University by the name of Johann Heller and I am inspired by the fact that he is a great guitar player! You do not need to go to the expense of a full hour session. Instead, just take half hour lessons once a week and you will be surprised as to how quickly you can learn to play. Again, this is a fabulous music book worth every penny!!
These are great pieces for the guitarist who wants to expand his or her sight reading ability and gain an insight into the wonderful Spanish Music for the guitar. They are just written or arranged for the guitar and that is what makes thes so wonderful!
Liked it, was easy to follow, would recommend to anyone who wants to play simple spanish tunes and sound impressive.
This is not for beginners.....when you're learning to play classical guitar, wait for at least one or 2 years!
This is part of a 3 volume trilogy. The best volume by far is Volume 3. Volume 1 and 2 are fine, but I seldom play them and find other works far more interesting. I wouldn't purchase either Volume 1 or 2 again.
