I was stimulated to pick up a brush after soaking up the beauty and innovation in Splash 7. This collection is not to be skipped.
The Splash books are great because you get to see so many different styles of paintings by wonderful artists.I always look through this book when I am looking for inspiration, where else can you see such a variety of paintings.
The Splash book series is a handy reference for those of us who strive to pursue watercolor. I have almost completed the purchsse of the whole series by buying them used. The used books have proved to be very satisfactory.
I soak up each of the Splash books as soon as I get them. I can't think of better teachers than observing the work of fabulous artists. This one did not disappoint! The artwork is amazing and the text so inspirational.
I ordered the book Splash 7: A Celebration of Light as a gift for my 78 year old mother. It came early in the timeframe, delivered to her door (there is a confusing mail box situation, so this door to door delivery exceeded expectations!). As a used book, it is definitely in "like new" condition, which is very important since my mother is using it to develop her water color painting skills. Her first selection to paint from the book received rave reviews from her teacher at the senior center. Thanks for exceeding my expectations. I expect to order another book from , since this experience was so great!
I love the light quality that is demonstrated in the examples included in this book. I am a watercolorist and the "celebration of light" that comes through in watercolor is what especially intrigues me. The variety of techniques shown is also very helpful. I would recommend this to anyone interested in improving their techniques no matter what their skill level.
I find these Splash series to be of great help in formulating my own painting style. The artists' commentary on their own work is thought provoking, as well as beautiful and inspirational.
I love the Splash series of books. Always great for exploring to get new ideas for my own artwork. Arrived fast.
